Salamanca Names New MD For Mauritius Trust Business

Salamanca Group has appointed Gordon Stuart as managing director of Salamanca Group Trust (Mauritius).

Stuart joins with immediate effect and is completing a handover process with Steve Whitley, the current MD, who has decided to leave Mauritius to be closer to his children in the UK, the firm said.

Stuart has 18 years of experience in the private client and trust industry in South Africa. He joins from Sentinel International Advisory Services, a South African fiduciary services company, where he was most recently the group chief operating officer. He held that position since March 2009.

Stuart’s industry knowledge includes South African exchange controls, tax, trusts and wills. He is a full member of the International Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a member of the Fiduciary Institute of South Africa (FPSA) with the following specialities: senior estate and financial practitioner, senior trust administrator and senior wills drafter.
